What is Livin' Large?
It is my own little crazy show that came up in my head in the summer of 2012. It's a world of giant monsters or a "kaijuverse." It was primarily driven by the drawings I made that summer in order to deal with stress. I haven't published much yet, but sort set up like a TV show: one hour episodes, there would be an over all story line and occasionally some "WTF" episodes, and different plots each season. It can be a serious drama at times, but it's meant to be comical too.
What is it about?
It is basically a world of humans and giant monsters or kaiju living their lives together. I have always been a fan of giant monsters since I was a child. I wanted to explore in detail what a world of giants would really be like beyond monsters just indiscriminately fighting another in cities and humans hopelessly firing useless weapons.
I wanted to know more what life is like for the monsters. How do they feel, how do they think, how do they survive a harsh world? How do the humans cope in this world too? What are their governments, businesses, and everyday lives like with the constant threat of monsters lurking?
It is a story of survival, drama, action, romance, comedy, friendship, betrayal, innovation, existence, and just Livin' Large!
Where is it set?
It is set in an alternate Earth. Most of the places are the real locations, just changed to fit this crazy world. I admit some places like Oak Ridge Labs are more of a tribute to local heritage.
Interesting fact, I live 15 minutes from the very place that played a key role in the development of the first atomic bomb...the very weapon that inspired Godzilla
When is it set?
It is set "in the near future." Much of the technology is very advanced/modern but not completely futuristic (think technology we could realistically see in the next 30 years or so).
Basically what happened was the planet was struck by a meteor shower carrying some very strange alien micro organisms. Just a few months later, some of the micro organisms already evolved into giant horrific creatures that terrorized the planet. The humans were able to fight them off, but the resulting corpses spawned a new generation of monsters. Some earth animals mutated almost immediately while others would take years.
Right now the story mainly focuses on the second generation of monsters... the creatures born on this planet.
Why?
I just wanted to do this for fun it. It is my way of trying to survive in this harsh world.

Now I'm curious. How long has humanity been dealing with giant monsters in this setting? Assuming you even have a coherent solidified answer to that question XD.
